Be Aware!!!!

Today was an exciting day in the Chamonix valley and should be an indicater to us all to look around and be aware. It snowed yesterday and we love it when it does, what it meant was that the excitment level today was tangable and as a result however the following took place(im not gonna list all the circumstances under which they happend just be aware). The first was a friend who due to wind and bad visibility fell more than 30 meters into a crevase and had to be rescued, second  was another friend who had to did her friend out of an avalanche, luckily he was only buried to his neck (numerous other slides where set off during the day) and yesterday there where 5 people cought in one slide at Grand Montet, one at least landed up in hospital and there was a broken arm in le tour also due to being cought in a slide. So be carefull, its all going off.

N74020211
SNOW AND AVALANCHE BULLETIN FOR HAUTE SAVOIE
(VALID OFF OF OPEN AND MARKED RUNS)
PREPARED ON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 2
FOR SUNDAY FEBRUARY 3

ESTIMATE OF RISK UNTIL SUNDAY EVENING:
MT massive Blanc higher than 3000 m: marked risk (level 3)
Chablais, Aravis and Mt-Blanc lower than 3000 m: limited risk (level 2)

WEATHER OVERVIEW UNTIL SUNDAY EVENING:
Clear cold night with severe frosts. Sunday sunny, pleasant in the sun.
Time Foehn in the Mt Blanc, hung high peaks.

Isothermal 0 1800 m.
Wind at 2000 m: moving southwest at night next to 20/40 km / h Sunday.
Wind at 4000 m: moving south 20/40 km / h.

SNOW CONDITIONS:
The small layer of snow brings a better, but still rather weak layers, especially in mountain valleys. Departures skis or snowshoes to the feet can be made soon but it is 1000 m limit. In general there are around 1500 m between 90 and 40 cm.

Quality of snow for Sunday:
On the average mountain, steep slopes and sunny there will be a little snow crust, yet powdery hard back on the parties less steep. Elsewhere cold snow, often snow, sometimes by cardboard kiss on Saturday evening then southerly wind a little turbulent on Sunday.

STABILITY OF SNOW COVER:
Slabs more in the high mountains.
Fresh snow in the night of Friday to Saturday is 20/25 cm on average mountains, sometimes 30 cm. The risks for Sunday will be more pronounced in the high mountains with patches more or less hard, which can be triggered by a single person, and this in many sufficiently steep slopes. On average mountain, a few slab structures are in place, mainly near the passes or peaks in the cold slopes.
But it will also be wary of a possible rift caused by a changeover to snow skis a little moist hard back and smooth, so little crowded slopes and taking the sun.
The natural activity should be limited to coulees and small avalanches in the corridors sunny.

TREND LATER RISK:
Since Sunday evening, risk up (stormy winds from the south / Foehn and another small layer of snow Monday)

Meteo-France updates this newsletter everyday at 16h or sooner if conditions warrant.
